Introduction to Mountaineering Adventure Program (IMAP) is designed for children ages 12-17.
The Program is currently canceled due to travel ban to NH.

For 20 years, our school has been introducing children to mountaineering through our high quality group trips.

The 5 different levels of our program are designed to:
- Provide safe, quality adventures for participants of all ability levels
- Create a fun and supportive environment for participants, enabling them to make new friends
- Visit New England’s most exciting natural landmarks
- Teach participants essential outdoor wilderness skills
- Develop or boost self-confidence in participants
Level 1: Hiking and Wilderness Skills.
No prior experience necessary
In this level students participate in mild day hiking trips to White Mountains and various National Parks in NH and MA.

- How to dress and equip oneself properly for trips in any weather conditions
- Building a campfire, and cooking on it
- Navigating different types of terrain
- Reading maps and using a compass

Level 2: Moderate Mountaineering
Hiking to the Top of the Mountains under 4000 ft. No prior experience necessary

Level 3: Technical Ice Climbing and Mountaineering Techniques

- Top rope ice climbing on moderate and vertical terrain
- Proper use of crampons, ice tools, ropes, and other equipment
- Building anchors using ice screws and V-threads
- Advanced ice climbing techniques

Level 4: Hiking/Climbing Mountains above 4000ft
Previous participation in at least 1 trip for Level 1 AND Level 2 is required to qualify

– Rain gear (poncho or rain jacket and pants)
